Plan to arrive 5min before or right on time. Because this is a home based business there is no real waiting room to sit in. If you arrive too early you may interrupt another persons time. There is free parking on the street and normally it is quite easy to find. Please look for a sign on the door that says open (and gives a time) or closed/busy. If it already your treatment time and there is still a busy sign up please do ring the bell.
The best answer is really whatever you are comfortable in. Most clients wear underwear which can help secure the sheets when working on the legs. If you prefer not to, that is fine as well. If you require glute work it is best to wear a higher cut undergarment. Massage can also be done over clothing if you prefer.
Energy work can be performed fully clothed as well as many of the other treatments. It is only massage & hot stones that work better directly on the skin.
You have complete privacy to change and a washroom is available directly beside the treatment room.
I can use a lotion that is scent free. However because aromatherapy is a large part of my work, I can not guarantee if that there will not be lingering smells. It is best to book the first session in the day if that is the case, and to communicate scent allergies prior to the appointment time, so that extra care can be taken.
Please inform me of any allergies to products, food, etc prior to your appointment.
Massage should never invoke lingering pain for days. Although some therapists believe pain is ok, I believe that treatment should not involve a high level of pain and if there is excessive soreness afterwards it means that perhaps the pressure was too deep, or too repetitive or there was not enough flushing of the tissues (especially if you get a headache). Please ensure that you inform the therapist of any medications you are taking as they can alter how the body feels pain and responds to it. Also, please ensure that you hydrate before and after. A comfort scale will be established and we will work together to ensure it is not too painful. As a client you can stop or change the treatment at any time and I will modify the techniques used.
I do not perform deep pressure. I use a more subtle approach and often integrate very light pressure such as reiki or cranial. I am happy to refer you to one of my many colleagues who does deep tissue if you prefer.
When you book online you will be asked to provide a credit card. This is just to hold your spot. You can pay the day of treatment by credit, debit, cash, cheque or even etransfer. An RMT receipt is always provided.
There's really not much to do before you arrive. Make sure you are clean and hopefully relaxed before treatment. Turn your cell phone off to avoid interruptions.
If you are not sure on what treatment to pick please call or email to set up a time to talk about your wellness needs. I am happy to listen and provide guidance in choosing the best treatment.

Massage therapy and Energy therapy can help with :
The answer really does depend on you. If you are in an acute injury or crisis situation you may need frequent treatment - once or twice a week.
Most people find once a month a good amount of time for maintenance.
It's also great to do a series of sessions close together if you are moving through energetic shifts in your life.
The answer really depends on what your are seeking treatment for as well as your financial situation. Feel free to reach out with any questions.
Energy Work can be hard to explain and to understand. I think of it as a way to unblock your energy so that you can feel better on a physical, emotional, mental and often spiritual level. Imagine a garden hose with the water running smoothly and powerfully through it, now kink up that hose! Everything stops and won't flow. Energy therapies will restore the flow in your being. Sometimes we also gain access to the reason behind the blockage which can be a belief pattern, trauma, or simply lifestyle imbalances. Whatever the reason, these sessions will help to restore harmony in the body.
